Most of my clients are well traveled and well read. Their tastes run the
gambit of their experiences, often making for ecumenical design
solutions. As a result I am often asked how to reconcile their
art, furniture and home.
My approach is relatively simple. I believe all architecture
grew out of working with rocks, sticks and mud. I work in
natural materials (stone, wood, plaster) that resonate with
people. It is an organic approach built on how the client lives
and works within their sacred space, their home.
If an individual's tastes run Mediterranean we willl be looking at terra
cotta, travertine, and carrera. If they are partial to Frank
Lloyd Wright and Arts and Crafts , we willl be playing with
slate, clear fir and oak. Or if a tansu sporting a Buddha needs
a home, we will search out cypress, shogi screens and coy
ponds.
Regardless of your personal tastes the important thing is being happy
with the result. My job is to clarify what will accomplish that. The
more the space reflects you and your sensibilities the easier
it is.
I am a builder, a licensed general contractor and accomplished
carpenter to be exact, but I specialize in building relationships.
I look at my business as a practice, where my clients feel
they can call on me whatever their needs. It may be as simple
as "My drawers squeak" or as important as "I'm thinking of
buying this house, can you walk it with me?"
Whatever the case I make myself available to answer the question
and steer them in the right direction. On smaller items I'll
simply refer them directly to my subcontractors, whom they often already
know from previous work.
The key to our success is the team. We really are the luckiest guys going. Fun
loving tradesmen who take pride in what they do, have a good time working together while still maintaining a
professional bearing.
I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and look forward to
working with you. |
